Moses’ incorrect assertion that Wen “off message”
http://bit.ly/dctXJP
Moses’ assertion wrong and frankly disturbing for an “expert” on
Chinese politics. First, he shows a serious misunderstanding of
Chinese leaders; in this era they would never go “off message” so
publicly; everything, and especially everything around these kinds of
events, is very scripted. Second, he made a real rookie mistake, which
is that he either never read or did not bother to reread previous
statements about political reform, in which case he would have known
the language Wen used had been used before at major party meetings.
Third, if Wen were off message would news of his talk still be on
major Party web sites like Qiushi and People’s Daily?
“…he made a real rookie mistake, which
is that he either never read or did not bother to reread previous
statements about political reform, in which case he would have known
the language Wen used had been used before at major party meetings.”
Do you know Moses? Is that what he did not do? How can you be sure?
The alternatives are worse
