  1. Just curious, are you using China as a hedge? It sounds like you’re not very confident in the way things are going in the United States, so I suspect you’re using China ties to provide useful networks in the case of state failure Stateside. And if Gordan Chang is right (the China bear strategy is closer to just bearing it up irregardless of evidence, if on the off-chance that China does collapse, which is not a complete impossibility, they’ll get lauded for being 10-20 years ahead of their time), you can just return stateside and start a new phase of your life.
